  • Develop a faith for daily living,
  • Grow as responsible members of their families and communities,
  • Appreciate healthy minds and bodies,
  • Recognize the worth of all persons and work for interracial and inter-group understanding,
  • Develop a sense of world-mindedness and work for worldwide understanding,
  • Develop their capacity for leadership and use it responsibility,
  • Appreciate the beauty, diversity and interdependence of all forms of life.

Caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith are the basis for all that we do.

We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.

Local business man and active Tifton citizen, Lamar Jackson realized that the youth of the Tift area needed a place to come to that provided an opportunity to participate in activities that were safe and wholesome. After contacting YMCA of the USA, meetings were conducted to see if the community would support a Y. A steering committee was put together and funds were raised to create the foundation necessary to substain a Y, and the Tiftarea YMCA was officially granted a charter in August 1998 as a provisional YMCA.
